Thank you/Merci to all the parents who came to help out with our sledding and skating party. We had a wonderful time and managed to get good weather that day and topped it off avec des biscuits et du chocolat chaud! It is hard to believe that it is March. Here is a copy of the latest newsletter here:
Chers parents,
Here are a few highlights from the past month:
• We have completed our work with the snowman words from our 3rd “photo de MIMI”. We will start our new poster next week.
• In math we have been counting and counting and counting. On our 100 hundredth day of school we spent a lot of time working with the concept of 100. We have also been counting by tens!
• I hope you are all enjoying the read-at-home books, Le français…oui, oui, oui par Madame Nathalie. Great work!
What’s new in March?
Along with our new Market Photo for MIMI we will begin a unit on food and nutrition. We will learn a lot of useful vocabulary related to foods and the 4 food groups from Canada’s Food Guide.
We also plan on some very exciting “Food” related activities during the month. Please note the following dates on your calendar:
• We will be finger painting with green pudding--no date set yet.
• Wednesday, March 6th: Fruit Salad - Each child is asked to bring a specific fruit to help in the creation of our culinary masterpiece.
• Tuesday, March 12th we will be going on a walking tour of Extra Foods on Broadway
• Wednesday March 13th: Vegetable Soup – Each child is asked to bring a specific vegetable to help in the creation of another delicious culinary masterpiece.
• Wednesday, March 27th: 4 Food Group Day - We will try to have foods from all 4 food groups for our special snack that day.
• St. Patrick’s Day is nigh! Everyone is welcome to wear vert (green) on Friday, March 15th.
• Please note that The Kindergarten students will be receiving their first Report Cards this month. They will be sent home on Friday, March 22nd. Parents are invited to book a Parent-Teacher Conference. Our class conferences will be scheduled Wednesday evening 4-7pm March 27th. N.B. There will be no school for students on Thursday, March 28th after these interviews.
Your Kindergarten teacher,
